Please read below for this week’s activities and what is coming up for DES! THIS WEEK and NEXT: Wednesday 1/22 – Nothing Bundt Cakes Fundraiser – Flyers and order form went home. Order form DUE by 1/22 with Cash or Check to DES PTA in marked envelope “PTA Cake Fundraiser” OR Venmo @DeMasiPTA w/ students name & cake. The class with the most cakes sold wins a prize!! ~ Flyer here – CLICK HERE DeMasi Spreads Love Service Day – the Signup Genius for donations should go out this week. Please be on the lookout for what your child’s grade will be donating to help with assembling different bags for charities on the day of the event and the deadlines associated with them. This event will be taking place during the day for your child. Schedule is TBD as of now. We will need volunteers the day of (Thursday 2/13) to help man the stations if you have any time in your schedule to help out. If you are cleaning out any children’s books please save them! We are partnering with Camden County Pop Up Library as one of the charities and will be donating books to them! Friday 1/31 – L.E.A.D. Graduation Ceremony for 5th grade will be from 1:45pm-3pm in the cafeteria/multi-purpose room. Friday 1/31 – The “Double Down on Evesham Education Casino Night” put on by the Evesham Education Foundation is from 6:30pm -10:00pm at the Mansion in Voorhees. Come out and support! The Great Kindness Challenge (GKC) is a global campaign that encourages kindness, social-emotional health, and bullying prevention in schools. The GKC involves students, educators, and staff performing acts of kindness during a week-long event. This year’s theme is Kindness Moves. We will be celebrating this “Kind” week on January 27th-31st. The kids are so excited it’s back! When: Every other Friday Starting September 27th How: Students that choose to participate will collect a popsicle stick for every lap they run around the soccer field. Once they collect 4 popsicle sticks (1 mile), they can trade them in for a charm. Students can collect a variety of charms to add to their lanyard necklace. Please be sure your child brings their lanyard from last year. Kindergarteners and new students will receive a lanyard on the first day of Recess Runners. DeMasi Elementary School graduate, and current DeMasi Middle School 6th grader, Chase Gilchrist is getting ready to battle cancer for the 6th time. Chase has terminal, grade 3 metastatic anaplastic ependymoma. While there is no known cure for Chase’s cancer, he is committed to fighting the good fight. Money collected will go directly to the Gilchrist Family to help with the enormous costs associated with cancer. We will have a map representing this data displayed at Multicultural Night.
